Colour Wheel

For our first session the children chose a sketchbook each to use every week. It was a tough choice with all the lovely covers to choose from!
Once this was sorted everyone had their own palette with red, blue and yellow paint. To begin with they put the primary colours on their colour wheel, followed by mixing and adding the secondary colours. After this step we talked about tertiary colours and how to make them (mixing a primary colour with a secondary colour). Finally we learnt how to make colour black and brown.
During the last quarter of the lessons the children drew and painted something of their choice using what we learnt in the first half.

Next week we are going to learn about colour schemes and how people use colour to represent feelings.
