Today is the final session on the wildlife art, a couple of the children created some more yarn paintings to add to our display whilst one of the children worked on their fox. Everyone made an incredible amount of progress today and to help with the adhesive paper issue we started cutting off the areas it was applied that would not have yarn attached. This week as a break from our display project the children painted some Halloween Lantern jars to take home. They had the choice of tissue paper or paint for decorating the jars, everyone ended up decorating two jars to take home. During the second session spent on the animal artwork we had a few mishaps with the adhesive paper meaning one of the pieces of art needed redrawing and new adhesive paper adding. Today the children began their final pieces for our display. Using the grid method we practiced last month they created larger version of the artwork in their sketchbooks, this took most of the session. The children also began adding yarn and paint to their drawings.

During our second drafting session two of the children finished their draft ideas and the third tested out yarn painting with adhesive paper instead of glue. They found the adhesive paper worked a lot better as any folds and bends stayed in place a lot better than previous attempts in their sketchbook with glue. This week the Friday group have started planning what animal and materials they would like to use for their contribution to our display. They had access to watercolour paint, acrylic paint, chalk pastels, drawing pens, oil pastels and collage materials.
