Exploring 3D Cardboard Art

Our exploration of 3D art has continued this week with cardboard and foil. We created the cardboard art first and then the foil sculptures during the last quarter of the session. The children also had access to all other art materials we have in our stores.
The first challenge they were given was to create a piece of 3D art using cardboard and the topic and other materials were free choice. We ended up with some unique pieces; a mini diorama, a bed sculpture, a hand painted standing cardboard cut-out minion and a Demogorgon head.
During the last part of the session the children had fun making some simple tin foil sculptures (heart, bear and microphone). They enjoyed adding the layers of foil and squishing it into the shapes they needed.
Next week we will be exploring creating 3D art with clay and sewing.
